Organza Appliqués are made from antique Japanese textiles which are sewn by hand to silk organza.  Within each work, my intention is to produce a weightless ephemeral quality, rich in texture in which light can pass through to transmit glowing color.  The surface patterns can be as diverse as three dimensional illusion, Byzantine tile patterns, or botanical studies.
