artist Toby Mercer has created nearly 1,000 original paper stratagraphics
since introducting the layering process in the early 1980's.
Simple hand tools are used to design and cut cotton rag boards
working one layer at a time. Pigments, when used, are brushed
on prior to stacking the cut layers and forming the finished three-dimensional
piece. Direction of light source and/or angle of view influence
the image percieved. |
