"I begin by taking hundreds of digital photographs, some of which are printed in black & white. These photos are attached to portions of a canvas-covered panel, and the entire surface is painted with oil and encaustic. The 2" diameter sides are painted as part of the image. A layer of damar varnish adds gloss and protection for the finished painting."
