| Victor
Martinez is internationally known as one of Peru's premier artists
in watercolor media. He is renowned for his sensitive portraits
of Andean characters, and its landscapes and seascapes.
At his sixty-nine years old, Victor and his wife, Gladys, live
in California and return annually to Peru where he often paints
the tranquility of the coast and the splendor of the ancient stone
missions buildings. His work, found in private and corporate
collections in North America, is just as popular with collectors
of South America & Europe.
About
his work Victor says: "The images that attract me and constitute
the integrity of my work are those which are linked to man in
its daily chores, its surroundings and attitudes. They are
landscapes and people in particular, of a remote and hidden region
in the province of Arequipa in Peru: the Valley of Colca." |
