Crystal’s sculptures are unique, one-of-kind creations carved out of rare woods which she personally selects from beaches in California and Hawaii. Choosing the wood is an integral part of her creative process. Crystal’s sculptures are inspired by the natural shape of the wood and the human form. From the twisted and gnarled roots and burls Crystal strives to reveal the "soul" of the tree. "For me, creating art is a deeply spiritual experience and nature is my vehicle of choice. Trees tell an ancient tale of evolution and beauty, of life and death. The story already exists within them. My vision is simply to reveal it, to share that hidden story with others."

Crystal has recently begun casting select wood sculptures to be made into bronzes, in limited editions of 25.
