Wendy Gruber, 'plein air' artist, teases out an exchange between the colors and strokes of pastels and underpainted washes.  Rather than documenting a scene, she focuses on its essence at a particular moment, coercing the grasses she paints to keep blowing after the piece is finished.  Recipient of numerous awards, her work is collected throughout the United States.
