A GREAT ROSTER OF ARTISTS
FROM AROUND THE WORLD AND THE U.S.
TO PARTICIPATE IN THE
2007
SAUSALITO ART FESTIVAL

SEPTEMBER 1, 2, & 3, 2007 at Marinship Park

SAUSALITO, California, May 10, 2007 — The celebrated Sausalito Art Festival, America's #1 Outdoor Fine Art Festival, launches its 55th annual event over the Labor Day Weekend (September 1-3, 2007), when it will play host to artists from around the world at Marinship Park on Sausalito's picturesque waterfront.

Approximately 1,000 artists submitted slides in March for the 270 coveted exhibitor spaces available.  A 14-member peer jury, nominated by a vote of last year's artists, each representing a different medium, viewed more than 5,000 slides over a two-day period to vote on this year's exhibiting artists.  More than $16,000 is available in prizes, and winners from last year are automatically invited to return.

International Artists returning include Istvan & Eniko Vago from Hungary (2-D Mixed Media), Hossein Fallahi from Iran (Painting), Carol S. Farrow from the UK (Watercolor), Ruben Fasani from Argentina (Glass), and Jean-Francois Brahin from France (Painting).

The Festival is heralded in great style with a black tie Gala Reception on the evening of Friday, August 31, 2007, when patrons enjoy a leisurely preview of the art, meet the artists, and sample a delicious dinner by celebrity caterer, Dan McCall and Associates.

Numerous national awards received by the Sausalito Art Festival include multiple National Association of Independent Artists (NAIA) "Artist Choice" awards, a "Best in the West" rating from The Harris List, and top 5 national rankings from Sunshine Artist Magazine.  It was also named the #1 Festival in the nation by the ArtFair SourceBook in 2004 and 2005.

The Sausalito Art Festival is held each year over the Labor Day Weekend (Sept. 1-3, 2007) in the beautiful art enclave of Sausalito, California - just a few minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco. The open-air event features beautiful sculpture and fine art, great food and premium beverages, with big name entertainment. It is held at Marinship Park with the idyllic setting of the Sausalito Waterfront as the backdrop. The Festival raises and donates more than $200,000 for local organizations and charities each year and is presented by the not-for-profit Sausalito Art Festival Foundation.
