SAUSALITO ART FESTIVAL - FACT SHEET 2008
Labor Day Weekend, August 29-31 and September 1, 2008
Ranked #1 in the nation by the prestigious Art Fair SourceBook, The Sausalito Art Festival is held each year over the Labor Day Weekend in the beautiful art enclave of Sausalito, California - just a few minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco.
This year marks the 56th anniversary of the world renowned Festival. SAF is an open-air event featuring beautiful sculpture and fine art, great food and premium beverages, with big name entertainment on two stages. It is held at Marinship Park and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Bay Model Visitor Center, with the idyllic setting of the Sausalito Waterfront as the backdrop.
The Main Stage features such top name bands, on all three days, that many people come for the music alone, and are wowed by the fabulous art, food and drink.
The Artist Stage musical highlights range from Big Band to Country, Jazz to World Beat. There is also a children’s park, with non-stop entertainment for kids.
More than 1,200 Artists from around the world vie for the 270 positions available. Participants come from 38 states and 15 are from abroad. In just a few years, SAF earned more than $1,000,000 for local organizations and charities.
