I'd like to offer my Congratulations to all of the Artists who participated in Festival 2001. It was, beyond a doubt, the finest collection in our 49 year history. This made it an even more difficult task to select just two recipients in each category for recognition.
Award winners were selected from a field of 270 exhibiting Artists (who were initially "Juried" into the Festival by a panel of their Peers). In addition to Cash Prizes totalling $20,000, Winners received an invitation to return to next year's show. Each of these Artists has been selected for their extraordinary level of achievement by an independent panel of Judges. Each Judge was selected for their experience and professionalism in the field of visual arts. Judging was conducted on-site during the show and awards were presented at the Artist Awards Reception Saturday evening.
I offer all the artists my congratulations and urge everyone to enjoy their work when they return to Sausalito next Labor Day Weekend for our 50th Anniversary Festival 2002.
